About the kitchen manager role:

  • full time, salaried culinary management position, leading full kitchen operations reporting
  • directly to the restaurant General manager
  • Responsible to manage daily kitchen and culinary plan execution with excellence
  • Train, mentor and develop the skill and career of the assistant kitchen manager
  • oversee the scheduling, hiring, and training of all culinary team with the support of assistant kitchen managers
  • Demonstrate strong leadership through effective communication and management of line operation during service periods
  • monitor daily kitchen cleanliness attacking any repair & maintenance concerns with regency
  • Manage full culinary program including prep, weekly inventory, ordering and ensuring there is never shortage of product
  • Facilitate ongoing training and education of menu items and program elements to both culinary and hospitality staff

Salary: $60,000-$70,000/ year

Barista (Yorkdale)

Do you have a passion for coffee? So do we! Join our barista team where you are you get to work in a fast paced environment making the finest quality coffees in the city.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greeting guest and providing friendly service
  • Take takeout drink/food orders
  • Memorize our menu and provide suggestions to our guests
  • Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff
  •  Make specialty drinks and desserts for dine-in and takeout
  • Keep the bar clean and following all sanitation protocols
  • Must be able to carry 25lbs

QUALIFICATIONS & KEY ATTRIBUTES

  • Good time-management skills
  • Able to work in a fast paced restaurant
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Able to work independently
  • MUST be smart serve certified
  • Can work a combinations of shifts weekday AM/PM and weekends AM/PM

Shift Manager (Front of House)

Cafe Landwer at Yorkdale is looking for a dedicated front of house shift manager to help lead our service team. Our shift managers are very involved on our service floors and we are looking for someone who loves to create an amazing guest experience!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in creating a culture of superior guest experience
  • Conduct training and development as well as performance management and employee coaching
  • Responsible for helping the restaurant meet service, sales and profit objectives, along with supervising and directing daily work activities, while upholding Cafe Landwer standards.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage all aspects of service and ensuring timely completion of assigned work
  • Provides genuine hospitable and personal service
  • Leading by example and maintaining a strong presence in the dining room
  • Build and maintain relationships with guests, team members and senior management
  • Ensures all human resources, health and safety, and other relevant policies and procedures are being followed
  • Varied work hours with ability for flexible shifts including late closing shifts with varied end times

Server (Yorkdale)
